Saudade is a NeoClassical composition for felted piano that is full of longing and nostalgia. I wrote it at the end of a long trip when I was thinking of home and hoping to be there soon. The music reflects this in the minor key openings to phrases that ultimately finish on the more optimistic submediant major, and the hopeful melody that emerges around the halfway point.
